Description
Proviroxyl is an oral drug manufactured by Kalpa Pharmaceuticals and containing active substance Mesterolone, which is a DihydroTestosterone derivate and is used in medicine to treat various types of sexual dysfunction, which often result from a low endogenous Testosterone level. Mesterolone is a synthetic, orally effective androgen which has no anabolic characteristics. Proviroxyl is used by many athletes and bodybuilders during cycles and at the end of a steroid treatment in order to increase the reduced Testosterone production. Proviroxyl comes in boxes, each unit containing 30 pills (25 mg/pill).
Proviroxyl helps bodybuilders and athletes reduce estrogenic side effects of other steroids gynocomastia, water-retention, lowered sex drive, etc. Also, Mesterolone can help boost the potency of Testosterone in the body by freeing Testosterone from its binding to sex hormone-binding globulin. This drug is also preferred many in contest preparations, when a lower estrogen and a higher androgen level is sought after. In this cases Proviroxyl can supplement a needed androgen, and generate an increase in the hardness and ripped aspect of the muscles.
Proviroxyl Dosage Bodybuilding
In the medical world for the treatment of insufficient androgenicity, a single tablet of 25mg taken three times per day (for a total of 75mg per day) is used at the onset of treatment, followed by a reduction in dose later on to maintenance levels of a single 25mg tablet per day. In the treatment of male infertility, the same dosages are normally used, though other fertility-boosting drugs are also included alongside Proviroxyl.
In the case of bodybuilders and athletes, Proviroxyl is normally used between 50 – 150mg per day to either control Estrogen levels, reduce water retention (caused by estrogen), or to increase fertility following the conclusion of a cycle.
Although Proviroxyl is not approved for use in females, some females in the athletic and bodybuilding community do elect to use it. In this case, a single Proviroxyl dosage of 25mg per day is enough to alter the look of the physique. This should be done no longer than 4 – 5 weeks in order to avoid virilization effects.
Proviroxyl Mesterolone Side Effects
Proviroxyl is usually well tolerated and side effects (men) are rare with dosages under 100 mg per day. Above this, one may develop an excessively high androgen level and encounter some problems. Typical androgenic side effects include oily skin, acne, body/facial hair growth and exacerbation of a male pattern baldness condition, and may occur even with the use of a moderate dosage.
With the strong effect DHT has on the reproductive system, androgenic actions may also include an extreme heightening of male libido. And as discussed earlier, Women should be careful around Proviroxyl. It is an androgen, and as such has the potential to produce virilization symptoms quite readily. This includes, of course, a deepening of the voice, menstrual irregularities, changes in skin texture and clitoral enlargement.
Proviroxyl is also not a c17 alpha alkylated compound, an alteration commonly used with oral anabolic/androgenic steroids. Not using this structure in the case of Mesterolone removes the notable risk of liver toxicity we normally associate with oral dosing. We therefore consider this a “safe” oral, the user having no need to worry about serious complications with use.
This steroid in fact utilizes the same 1-methylation we see present on Primobolan (Methenolone), another well tolerated orally active compound. Alkylation at the one position also slows metabolism of the steroid during the first pass, although much less profoundly than 17 alpha alkylation. Likewise Proviroxyl and Primobolan are resistant enough to breakdown to allow therapeutically beneficial blood levels to be achieved, although the overall bioavailability of these compounds is still much lower than methylated oral steroids.
