Description
Provimed (Mesterolone) by Balkan Pharmaceuticals is an anabolic steroid is particularly interesting. I suspect that it not only acts as an antiaromatase but in an unknown DHT-like anti-estrogenic manner. This might involve estrogen receptor downregulation for example. In any case, aromatase inhibition and/or Clomid don’t seem to give the same effect on appearance and muscle hardness as when Provimed is included.
Provimed has good binding to the androgen receptor, but in muscle tissue most of it never reaches the androgen receptor because it is enzymatically converted to the diol. Thus, it is not an effective anabolic. It is somewhat effective as an anti-gyno agent, however, and appears to reduce estrogenic bloating if that problem exists.
Provimed during PCT Bodybuilding
Provimed’s ability to enhance sperm production and libido means that many athletes and bodybuilders often incorporate it in their PCT plans. Some amateur bodybuilders utilize Provimed at the end of a steroid cycle with the hope of restoring their reduced natural testosterone levels. But is it worth noting that using Provimed hormone alone as a PCT is not a good idea and may actually be counterproductive.
Provimed by Balkan Pharmaceuticals only reduces or completely eliminates the dysfunctions caused by the declining androgen levels, such as low libido and infertility; but has no effect on the body’s own endogenous natural testosterone production. The drug may actually cause weak suppression of the body’s own natural testosterone production, which could threaten recovery.
If a bodybuilder feels that he or she must use mesterolone hormone for post cycle therapy, he/she should combine it with appropriate testosterone stimulating agents. There are three categories of testosterone stimulating agents that are known to stimulate the HPTA (Hypothalamic Pituitary Testicular Axis) to stimulate the production of natural testosterone and balance hormone levels. They include: Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulators (SERMs), Aromatase Inhibitors and HCG. Proper use of these substances in a well-planned post cycle therapy plan will not only stimulate the HPTA, but also prevent muscle catabolism, prevent unwanted fat-gains and strength loss, and also reduce any unwanted side effects.
Provimed Cycle Dosage
An average dosage of Provimed for male bodybuilders is 25 – 100 mg per day. Often just 25 mg per day is a sufficient amount to prevent gynecomastia. Women in general use a single 25 mg tablet and it is an efficient shift in the androgen/estrogen ratio, and can have a great impact on the female physique. Since this is such a strong androgen however, to avoid virilization symptoms extreme caution should be taken with administration. Provimed can be used as well in stack with other medications: one tablet of Provimed used in combination with 10 or 20 mg of Nolvadex can be even more efficient for muscle hardening, and creating a possibility for human body to burn off extra body fat. It is important to know that Provimed is not hepatotoxic, as it is not 17-alkylated.
